Romeo and Juliet. Part IV. With music

This one is for Ces. Now, remember this was a ballet, not a real play, and that's what I am trying to depict.

  1. Bravo, Encore! I really like the costumes. Bright colors! Ballet....hmmmm...she must have mad skillz to do ballet in a long dress. And heels. ;)

  2. oh no. they were just a crowd. they were a part of crowd scenes, not too much dancing. but the costumes were gorgeous!

  3. Aaaah, I see. I've only been to the opera once, but I remember being completely overwhelmed by the beauty and intricacy of the sets and costumes. And of course, the audience was so well dressed, too. Lots of fur coats that night.

  5. ha! Bella, you know...funny thing. this morning i took a bus to work and right in front of me a conductor of an orchestra was sitting. i knew that because he was talking on his cell phone and i kinda overheard a little part of his conversation.

    i don't know which orchestra though :)

  6. Did he have wild hair? To me, you can't be a great conductor without the hair.

  8. Well my favorite are Romeo's thighs and the shadow in the middle, not what it represents but how you represent that little thing. When I used to watch movies depicting the olden days, I always loved the men's costumes because the women's were just a huge bell skirt. I like Rome's cape. Okay, I like Juliet's lipstick color. She has shapely lips. I love Romeo and Juliet and I HATE all the modern Hollywood interpretations. I mean if they want to tell R and J's story why not tell it as Willie did. Screenwriters ought to write their own original stories. Leave R and J alone!

  9. hey Ces! yeah, i should have mentioned here, that these are Juliette's parents.

i don't know if i agree regarding the remakes and interpretations. i think because this story is a classic it is totally possible and applicable in any era. timeless. :) so modern interpretations don't bother me. but in terms of ballet, yeah.. here i am more conservative. i prefer classic ballet, don't like modern... modern... strange broken dances... in ballet that is.

but now i am waiting for the fish LOL

  12. Thanx Amy and Roberta!

yes, i was stunned by the costumes and how rich and colorful they were. the crowd didn't do much dancing, but they totally painted the picture with those dresses
